Norse Goddesses

“I’d love to try to tame you... And I would simply adore it if you turn out untamable –”

Simona Panova, Nightmarish Sacrifice

When Freya a Norse Goddess cried, they said her tears would fall and turn into gold, she had the love of finer things in life.

This styled shoot was based on this, bringing luxury elements from then to now, bringing modernisation into the theme, mixing some old in with the new to form an amazing styled shoot. Having the shoot at Folkington Manor, was perfect, it has that cosy industrial feel with two rooms, open fire spaces, a stage, a beautiful balcony and traditional flint walls. Using the styled from the venue gave us all the inspiration to provide a stunning setup and a perfect wedding.

Suppliers

All suppliers where given a mood-board with a vision, once they had this they had the reigns to do what they felt was right for the board.

Flowers

The flowers were left in the hands of Tony Dunn Flowers who used natural colours in his arrangements., some lilac and latte tones, he incorporated some gorgeous Pampus Grass and some dried flowers, which is a huge wedding trends for flowers at the moment. He wanted to add lots of height and texture. I think he did a pretty friggen awesome job. To have and To hire added their gorgeous props to the shoot by using their gold stands to elevate Tony's centrepiece and using hanging candles underneath added some seductive lighting.

The Table & Catering

The table was set up with candles, fur runners to add some texture along with beautiful grey, blue & gold crockery from Co-Ordination Hire, a gorgeous feasting platter, that didn't just look good but of course tasted amazing, the napkin rings and tile cards added a 'feastival' feel and was hand made by Lula Belle and Moo, which i think gave it that perfect ancient feel. Claire Sweet Temptations designed a stunning cake based on the stationery that had been made by Tiggity Boo. She used the Tree of life emblem that was on the invites and added it to the cake.

Make up, Hair and outfits

We wanted to really give our couple viking hair which would compliment the dresses but adding some sexy makeup to make them come across as modern Norse Goddesses like nothing could stop them, by adding bespoke crowns handmade by Sophie and Luna London , their gowns and lace-up boots really gave you that 'goddess' feel - empowerment, strong and ready to take on the world.

The Couple

Well what can i say about these two, not only were they perfect for the shoot but they have a slight obsession with vikings, Skye & Lei could not have fitted this shoot more perfectly even if we tried, they both sailed through the shoot and troupers they were, as it was so bloody cold. Louise our celebrant made them feel at ease when it came to the ceremony. If you need a celebrant that makes you feel comfortable, then she is the lady to do this.
