YOU Said YES!!

The ideas are running around your head like a headless chicken, you don’t know where to start, what to do, where to go – things become over whelming and to many cooks spoil the broth.

First things first, relax enjoy the reality of being engaged, it does feel a little weird at first especially when you keep looking down at your finger and using your hands more to express things (believe me I have been there), you kind of want to use your left hand in everything, just so you can show off your sparkle.

Once you have had time to adjust then you can start planning…

This is a must – we have all seen the movie father of the bride, if you don’t budget things will get out of hand and you really don’t want to be disheartened if things are too much out of reach. So sit down and discuss it. Now days the engaged couples tend to pay for it themselves, but there is still some good old traditional parents out there that are happy to help.

Having a spreadsheet will help with budgeting, in my full wedding planning package I offer a full itemised spreadsheet to help keep you on track.

Guest List

There's a per-head cost for food, and this is typically the biggest expense of the whole wedding, so prioritising your guests will help on the cost, think on who you really spend your time with and not just have people that your parents think should be there. You don’t want to spend money on guests you rarely see or hear from. The day is YOURS. On top of that, the smaller the guest list, the more you'll save on all your other details, including décor, stationery, flowers etc...

Venue and date.

Some venues and towns are more expensive than others due to tourism and popularity, so keep this in mind. The date will make a huge difference in cost for example getting married mid-week will be considerably cheaper than getting married on the weekend and obviously choosing a date on the high season will make a difference in the cost too. Consider the time, an evening reception is usually more expensive than a lunch time reception, people tend to drink less during the daytime.

In my wedding planning packages I will assist on finding the right wedding venue for you from Sussex wedding venues to London wedding venues.

Theme and style

Start looking at themes, you may have something in mind already but believe me it will change. So take some time to have a look through wedding magazines, pinterest and blogs, you will know your style and theme as soon as you see it.

If you can’t think or have issues deciding then this is where a wedding planner can help, Hire societies offers a bespoke designing package based just on designing your day and creating a spreadsheet, i don't need to be there if you feel you can handle it, or I can offer a full wedding planning package and help from start to finish.

This list could go on and on there is so much involved in creating a stunning wedding day, it takes roughly 300 hours to plan a wedding. Hire societies offers wedding planning packages from full planning, on the day coordinating to designing your day and covers London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent and Essex.
